Campioni Del Mondo! Had a blast winning the ORC World Championships with a great Italian team on Xio this week. It was a tricky regatta combining inshore and offshore racing in generally breezy conditions in beautiful Sibenik, Croatia. Next stop Newport RI, USA for the New York Yacht Club annual regatta.
After some multiple wins in California in early 2018, we had a fairly unsettled start to the year on Gladiator, with the big sponsorship change of Land Rover BAR switching to Ineos Team UK, but we started to hit our straps as the season progressed with better results in the TP52 Super Series and victories in Cowes Week and Newport RI.
We also had some challenges with Jethou early on after some fairly big modifications to the boat, but we really got to grips with those for the latter events as the boat was going better and better, finishing with a solid 2nd in the Voile De St Tropez.
We'll be back to San Diego this winter on Gladiator, which I'm thoroughly looking forward to, love it down there, as Jethou goes back into the shed to continue it's development.
I'll also have some exciting news about our audio equipment for yacht racing which will be being used by a major new race series.

Next week I return to one of my favourites, Porto Cervo, Sardinia, for the first time since finishing the America's Cup, where I will be racing with Sir Peter Ogden's team aboard Jethou. Thoroughly looking forward to taking part in this iconic event again which we won the last time I was there with Alegre in 2014.
Had a fun and successful Lendy Cowes Week with Gladiator. We saw a full range of conditions the team sailed well throughout. I have some free time now until the Rolex Maxi Cup at the beginning of September, and I'm available for work until then.
The iconic Cowes Week starts at the weekend and I will be racing with Tony Langley's Gladiator team on one or his TP52's. After a successful IRC East Coast US Championships with the team 2 weeks ago in Newport RI, we will be hoping to continue the run on home waters. Cowes Week has often been a big event in my calendar and I always look forward to it. There is no regatta quite the same.
